This is from a posting circa 2018. Since Sunday is my lazy day, I offer you an oldie but goodie. Enjoy!
The little man at my house, aged nine, asked to do my nails today while I had my coffee and his little sister slept. We both were up pretty early this morning.
He did a great job for his first time, and I was very pleased that he wanted to do something nice for me.
My nails are very short due to all the sewing I do, and in reality, some of the more glam ladies I encounter during my daily routine might turn their noses up at what amounts to a paint job that looks like it was done by a kid. He missed a few spots, and over painted in others.
My hands have never been pretty, and that’s ok because I make beautiful things happen with them.
But my heart could not be happier.
My point?
Let them learn, and learn with you. Let them make mistakes and take longer than needed to complete a simple task. For in time they will master skills in front of your very eyes, if you exert a little patience with them now.
We are their first teachers.
They are worth the investment of our time.
I love my kids.
